Finding Lazyboy Recliner Parts (Buy Replacement Parts)

Your Lazyboy will most likely be your favorite piece of furniture. It will provide comfort and relaxation to your tired muscles and bones each and everyday. However, as in all furniture, even the most durable ones can fail after some time, especially when it is overused.

When your Lazyboy starts to act up, make sure to have it checked as soon as possible. If you don’t give it the attention it needs, it will most likely worsen with time and continued use. There might come a time when you would have to look for a Lazyboy recliner part and have it fixed. Although every Lazyboy comes with a limited lifetime warranty, some parts may not be covered by the warranty. Moreover, if the repair needed is minor, it may be more expensive to have it sent back to your dealer and Lazyboy factory, so you can rely on your local repairman this time.

When this happens to you and your Lazyboy recliner, where can you find replacement parts? Luckily, you have a few options.

Our Recommendation: Buy Parts from Amazon!

Parts for your Lazyboy Electric Power Recliner

If you don’t want to buy from Amazon, you can also buy parts from eBay or see your other options below:

1. Check with your repairman.
Repairmen usually have their own repair parts stocked, so they can be your first and most convenient option. If they don’t have them on stock, they will usually provide you information as to where you can possibly buy the part you need.

2. Check your local hardware.
Most recliner parts can be found in major hardware shops, so check with your local hardware. You can even ask your repairman of choice to accompany you if you are clueless about recliner parts.

3. Check with your dealer or the store where you purchased your recliner.
If the recliner parts you need seem difficult to find, try contacting the dealer where you have purchased the recliner. These suppliers usually have their own set of stocks of recliner parts, some of them even sell them as well.

4. Check the Yellow Pages.
There might be Lazyboy recliner service centers in your area that sell recliner parts. You can also check out Lazyboy authorized dealers in your area and nearby and ask whether they have the part you need for sale and if they have it in stock.

5. Search online.
The Internet can provide you with a vast resource of recliner parts. There are many online shops that sell Lazyboy recliners such as Amazon and eBay. Log on and search for them through your favorite search engine. You can also ask around through online forums. Lazyboy recliner parts shouldn’t be hard to find online. We even lists Lazyboy recliner parts here on our website and where to buy them!

How much does the recliner parts cost?
If you are looking for a complete recliner motor replacement kit then it can cost you around $60-$100. The kit generally includes an 8-suffix AC line, DC line, power adapter, hand controller, and pins. The parts may change depending on the price and from where you are buying.

The liver-style electric handset can cost you around $80 – $90. The replacement cable can cost you around $5 – $20 depending on the quality. The replacement cable handle can cost you around $5 – $15. The mechanism tension spring can cost you around $7 – $25.

Tips Before Buying Recliner Parts
Here are a few tips for you when buying recliner parts.

• Identify what type of cable your recliner uses and buy the exact one to avoid any inconvenience.
• Always prefer longer cables over the shorter ones. You can cut the long cables as per your need, but the shorter ones might just be a waste of your money if they don’t fit.
• Always check the attaching mechanism and mount of your cable to avoid buying the wrong one.
• Always measure the distance from the mounting bracket to the top of the handle on hidden handles so that it fits your recliner.

SOLUTION to Common Lazyboy Recliner Problems:
Feet don’t touch floor / Leans too far back
Footrest stuck in UP or DOWN position
Replace a Recliner Tension Spring

Lazyboy recliners are one of the most popular and reliable brands in the recliner industry. Buying a Lazyboy will not only guarantee maximum comfort, style and durability, but it will also guarantee you less headaches – in looking for repair parts, for example. Fortunately, there are a wide range of options for looking for Lazyboy recliner parts. Just remember to have your Lazyboy fixed the soonest possible time to minimize possible costs.

If you are 240 lbs do not expect a lazy boy recliner to support you for more tha 2 or 3 weeks before it loses its spring support in the seat. All lazy boy will do is replace the same type springs. You have been warned.

I bought a man sized lazy-boy because I am tall and the footrest was longer. A few months afterwards a bolt that is under the chair broke. The warranty paid for repairs. Several months afterward it happened again. The chair was “repaired” three or four times, the last time was the last time for warranty repair, or so I was told. I don’t know what the five year warranty is for and having misplaced my invoice I am not quite sure the chair is still under warranty. I am sure, however, that the chair is parked in the corner of my living room and not usable because the same bolt is broken and a spring that helps the mechanism just fell out on the floor. I mistakenly thought LazyBoy was a reputable company but I guess not. The dealer wouldn’t replace the chair when it first broke and has since gone out of business. I am elderly and have a sick husband and am working so that we can have insurance. I would love to have my chair repaired because I can’t buy another, but sounds like I shouldn’t even go there because of the repair costs.

Looking for a spring for a lazyboy wing back that was purchased 21 years

The new one I purchased last year has had 3 repairs already. Will not

  23. Montana - 07/16/2014 at 12:33 pm

Former La-z-boy employee here…. for seat springs (the zig-zag type) you can go to La-z-Boy Comfort Care…you need the ACK number from under the footrest, its on the LAW TAG. OR, you can go to any furniture repair person…these are generic parts and any reputable repair person will have them.

For the replacement recliner handle… your best bet is EBAY, there are two types of handle inserts so be careful. first type is for the TORX bolt, but they call them the star insert, and the latest one is the “new” square/box insert.

  25. country sunshine - 11/6/2014 at 8:14 am

I have a Big Man Rocking Lazy Boy Recliner that has served me well for the past 14 years. Sadly, the foot lift has stripped the teeth that makes it recline in several different positions. I am over 300 pounds and this chair has served me well all these years. I have purchased three new lazy boy recliners over the years to replace this one but it is obvious that the construction and design has been compromised with mass repuduction. They do not have the comfort like the old one. In all the years that I’ve had this chair, we have had to replace the recline mechanisms twice and it was easy to find the parts online and they shipped them FREE. This time, I can’t seem to get a hold of anyone at Lazy Boy and all I can find are places to buy parts. What happened to the free lifetime warranty for parts ?

The handle on my lazy boy recliner broke, it was purchased at the NFM in Omaha, went there and they said I would have to go to your website. Can’t find anything on your website about a part although I saw the video and it is easy enough to fix. I don’t want to run around to Home Depot, Loew’s and menards looking for a part and I have no idea what kind of repairman would carry this handle.
Who would I contact in Omaha or call to order the handle?

Recently the springs that hold the two pins for the footrest latch mechanism under the chair have broken. I would like to get a new set of these 2 springs so that the footrest can be raised into the various positions. The springs are roughly 3/4 of and inch end when not stretched out. Where can I get these parts?

  40. Dan - 06/24/2017 at 7:13 pm

We have a lazy boy power recliner. The foot rest actuator has a plastic cap/link that fits on the end of the ram via a hinge pin and connects to the foot rest mechanism via another hinge pin. That plastic cap/link broke in half. Without that piece the foot rest won’t lift. Searching on line for replacement parts for any Lazy Boy actual lifting mechanism has not paid off. Anyone have any success?
